The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking a Systems Modeling research student intern in the Systems Engineering Research Division (SERD) for the Summer 2019 semester. SERD research focus areas are in applied Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), collaborative web-based software tools, and modular open systems engineering. These complex research areas support aircraft and ground vehicle electronic systems. The broad range of tasking will provide a solid foundation for the student as a future systems engineer and modeler. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing one or more of the following activities:

  • Programming and/or modeling and simulation
  • Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Systems design utilizing Systems Modeling Languages/Tools including MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.
Required Minimum Qualifications

Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SysML tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.
  • Experience in Java and/or Python programming languages
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and/or aerospace engineering
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
