POSITION SUMMARY:

The Intern, Sales is an active team member that supports the Industry Team's sales activities throughout an entire sales cycle. The intern has a contributing role building relationships with industry partners, vendors, and show staff. The intern will receive one-on-one mentorship that helps build experience, confidence, and builds on sales and communication skills.


ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales Support

* Support the industry team through selling and executing on advertising, sponsorships, exhibit spaces, and other items offered to industry

* Assist in seeking new revenue from current industry partners and prospective companies

* Assist in collecting payments and running reports

* Support the team in ensuring that all benefits associated with industry offerings are executed correctly and on time

* Assist with various projects as assigned


Asset Tracking

* Communicate with current partners on fulfillment needs including but not limited to: deadlines, design specs, and file corrections

* Assist in material review, asset collection, and asset tracking


Exhibition and Event Logistics

* Assist in the execution of AAN conferences including but not limited to vendor orders, updating floorplans, and internal and external shipments

* Work on logistics for conference exhibition including but not limited to working with internal customers, vendors, and show staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED is required

* Enrolled as a student studying communications, marketing, general business or other related field is required


Experience:

* Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word is required

* Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is preferred


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

* Strong customer service skills are required

* Strong organizational skills are required


ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Travel Requirements: No travel required

Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as hybrid (required to work in the office with the ability to work remotely part of the week)

Schedule: Rarely beyond standard work schedule required

Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with ability to sit for long periods of time, occasional use of stairs; regular use of computer and office equipment, lifting up to 10 lbs. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
