Financial Analyst

Chandler, Arizona

Mission/Purpose:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for working within the finance structure providing analytical / finance support to the operations and business teams. They will complete analysis and interpretation while ensuring compliance with all Edwards Vacuum operational and finance policies and processes. Working within the organization they will meet business requirements to provide reporting, historical analysis, trend analysis, and performance analysis delivered directly to the end user via the financial systems and data warehouse solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provides analysis and supporting documentation to production overheads
  • Participates in leadership meetings and financial discussions while covering for controller in their absence
  • Assists the business controller in the preparation of the labor and overhead rates, ensuring they accurately reflect the production environment
  • Provides opportunities, through analysis,to improve efficiency and contain production costs
  • Assists finance management in the review of operational budgets and forecasts as required by the Planning Managers and their associated lines of reporting
  • Documents and enhances existing financial management information systems via process improvement, financial modelling and / or elimination of non-value-added activities
  • Provides support in the validation and monitoring of operations related transactions when required and during comparison of actual performance to estimated performance
  • Provides support and liaison to the operation functions in the validation of operational admin requirements including compliance with associated controls
  • Supports the regional finance organization in the following areas as and when required: tax compliance, management of commercial inventory, financial systems, and internal and external audit
  • Supports month end review as and when required in conjunction with the Edwards Finance SSC
  • Participates fully in assigned training programs
  • Demonstrates responsibility along with all employees for acting at all times in a manner which promotes the health and safety of all personnel (employees and visitors alike), and users of Edwards equipment. Reports any observed hazards utilizing the tools provided. Participates in corrective measures when appropriate. Strictly adheres to PPE requirements
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
  • Respectfully takes direction from the Business Controller and other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

  • Knowledge of SAP highly preferable
  • Education level - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in finance, accounting or similar is required
  • Experience in production / manufacturing environment is a significant benefit
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in an international and highly automated environment with operational experience, commercial experience is a benefit
  • Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of establishing performance criteria along with subsequent analysis and monitoring in a multi-business and global environment
  • Experience utilizing ERP system solutions
  • Basic project management skills
  • Office systems knowledge including Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word.
  • Must have organizational awareness and ability to function in harmony with other functions to achieve business objectives
  • Information sharing, growth drive, capability development, change leadership, customer orientated
  • Strong communication and interaction skills
  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high workload environment with proven ability in building partnerships across a matrix organization
