Part-Time 7a - 7p

The Licensed Practice Nurse is responsible for age appropriate, direct patient care (including IV therapy) under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The scope of practice is determined by the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and established Hardin and Nursing Service policies, procedures and standards of practice. The LPN directs and assists ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interacts with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel. The LPN demonstrates professional responsibilities and is responsible for own practice. The LPN assists other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.

Incumbent will function as an LPN as part of a designated float pool. As part of the float pool staff will report to designated Nurse Manager for all assignments. Assignments may be extended for a period of time or change on a daily basis to cover the needs of primary care and specialty areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of school of practical nursing with current unrestricted Kentucky license required, or higher.

  • One year experience in hospital setting required.

  • BLS preferred on hired, required within 90 days of hire.

  • PALS certification is required within 6 months of hire into Float Pool.

  • Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
