Make the most of our gorgeous Wisconsin summers by working outdoors as a Temporary Seasonal Laborer with the West Allis Department of Public Works. These full-time seasonal positions offer great work hours from spring - early fall. Learn more about municipal public works operations and gain new skills in customer service, landscaping, road painting, sanitation work, and more. These positions are open to anyone 18 years of age or older and candidates must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
Pay range $14 -20/hour. Appointment above the minimum available for well qualified or returning applicants. West Allis residents earn an additional 5%.

All positions' hours 7am-3pm Monday - Friday except where indicated.
FORESTRY Cutting grass, pulling weeds, trimming, edging, tilling and planting flowers, mulching paths and landscape beds, and miscellaneous duties. May work for other Divisions during inclement weather. Starting wage $14/hour unless previous landscaping experience.
FACILITIES Erecting and taking down mobile signs, Park attendant, janitorial duties (Public Works building, Farmers Market, etc.), assist with road and crosswalk painting, barricading, traffic/parking control, and miscellaneous duties. Starting wage $14/hour.
One role for Facilities will work Wednesday - Sunday. This position will have a starting wage of $18/hour.SANITATION & STREETS Working on the tar crews filling holes/cracks in City streets, delivering garbage carts, and occasionally collecting garbage or recyclables and other miscellaneous duties. Starting wage $18/hour
City Drop-Off Attendant - Checking drivers' licenses, directing residents to correct drop off areas. Tuesday - Friday, 11am-7pm, Saturday 8am-4pm (subject to change). Starting wage $18/hour
