About the role

Job Overview:

The Storekeeper will play a critical role in managing the facility's spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and materials to support plant operations. This role involves tracking issues and receipts, loading and unloading trucks, storing parts properly, and providing shipping and receiving support. The Storekeeper will work closely with various departments to oversee all aspects of spare parts, service procurement, and materials management functions, while also implementing control measures to ensure warehouse materials are properly managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track issues and receipts of spare parts and materials, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Load and unload trucks, store parts properly, and maintain a well-organized warehouse environment.
  • Provide shipping and receiving support, coordinating with vendors and internal departments as needed.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to verify the accuracy of inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the buyer to ensure timely procurement of materials and services, placing purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure that procured materials and services meet quality, safety, and timeliness requirements, while providing the best value to the company.
  • Be responsive to plant upset conditions, providing support as needed to maintain operations.
  • Operate plant mobile equipment (e.g., forklift, light trucks) in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lift and carry packages weighing up to fifty pounds, as required.

Requirements:

  • Prior warehouse or storeroom experience, with strong computer skills.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar inventory management software is a plus.
  • Experience in steam plant operations and/or maintenance is desirable.
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving, along with a mechanical or materials management background, preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate plant mobile equipment in a safe manner, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry packages

This position's expected hourly pay rate is $25.00 - $27.00.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Covanta is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
