Job Description
Sentry has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Brand Manager to develop marketing strategies to solve short and long-term business challenges for designated business unit(s). This role is responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary marketing teams in the creation of integrated marketing plans. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge and understanding of business strategy and goals and serves as trusted advisor to senior leaders in the development of marketing strategies. You will cultivate relationships with internal business stakeholders and external agency partners, along with providing agency direction and oversight of deliverables, and provide project management expertise that ensures successful delivery of programs on deadline, budget and with desired results. This role serves as a steward and ambassador of Sentry's brands with expertise in multichannel marketing.

What You'll Do

As a Brand Manager, you will:

  • Serve as main point of contact and strategic marketing advisor to all stakeholders in assigned business unit(s), by demonstrating business area and industry knowledge to offer marketing solutions that will drive organic growth and/or new business, product, or services.
  • Facilitate the collaboration and coordination of internal marketing teams to develop broad mono and multi-line marketing strategies and integrated marketing plans. Plans are supported by channel-specific tactics and based on consumer research, brand understanding, and marketplace data which contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with business stakeholders. Present marketing strategies to the business, including executives, ensuring a clear understanding on how business objectives are supported and the rational behind the work. Provide regular business unit updates to leadership on marketing campaign progress and results. Research and respond to marketing related issues as they arise.
  • Serve as primary contact for agency relationships of assigned business unit(s), providing direction on marketing strategies and plans.
  • Through knowledge and expertise of internal stakeholders' business strategy and objectives, serve as the business unit expert for internal marketing teams, providing insight, offering guidance, ad occasional direction to peers ensuring continued alignment to business needs and goals.
  • Establish complex, short- and long-term project plans, which includes but is not limited to identifying key deliverables, milestones, timelines, budget, roles and responsibilities. Collaborate across marketing teams and with business stakeholders to ensure deliverables are tracking on time and within budget. Identify risks and needs as they arise ensuring timely resolution.
  • Build, understand and analyze key performance indicators of marketing campaigns, leveraging data and insight to make informed decisions regarding new or changes in strategy or direction.
  • Support Director of Brand Marketing in providing work direction and leadership to teammates which includes, but is not limited to, day to day guidance on workflows, prioritization, feedback and coaching on deliverable to ensure desired client experience and achievement of business outcomes.

Additionally, you will:

  • Identify, research, evaluate and recommend new marketing opportunities in support of business objectives
  • Provide input, direction and feedback on content and visual design contributed by others, including both internal content and design teams and external agency partners.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal partners in understanding legal regulations that affect communication, media and marketing.
  • Provide input into Sentry's brand including development and maintenance of brand identity standards, templates and guidelines to ensure adherence to brand standards.
  • Maintain awareness to current and future market trends by attending workshops, seminars, etc. Remain current on existing, new or changed products, programs and services. Recommend modifications to existing policies and procedures to contribute to overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of marketing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (degree in Marketing, Journalist, Public Relations or related field)
  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated expertise establishing short and long-term client or business unit marketing strategies
  • Understands long-term view of business implications to Marketing strategy and implementation
  • Experience in digital, graphic design and/or web environments, along with social media and understanding of search engine optimization helpful
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Previous experience providing guidance and direction to vendor partners helpful
  • Strong planning, project management and organization skills. Ability to flex between strategic planning, project management and execution of deliverables
  • Ability to understand and operation in a matrix environment, understand complex business models, familiarity with marketing and business key performance indicators and use data to influence and inform decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences, including executives
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
